INTRODUCTION
Well, hello there!
I'm excited to be starting afresh in the bloggerverse. I've previously owned and ran two book blogs, but when my reading obsession turned into editing fiction novels, time suddenly seemed to shrink. I'm also that much older now...
...in my early 50s.
Which, in case you're going to misconstrue my reason for adding that little tidbit of information, stop right there. I'm wiser, too.
Of late, it's deemed that anyone over the age of 25 is ancient. Pffft. You're not even at your best yet. Trust me, the best is yet to come! We should be thankful we're alive at any age we are, because frankly, not everyone is lucky that way. You know?
I'm still book obsessed as I'm still knee-deep in editing, but I've always had a love of and for make-up, so my new obsession has begun.
Over the past few months, I discovered YouTube. Yes! Shocking, isn't it? Not that I never knew it existed, per say, but that I actually started watching beauty related videos and a whole other world opened up. From there, I discovered amazing South African based companies who imported international high-end make-up, for which I and many a South African is elated about. And that was my downfall. Purse-wise! But not at all in a bad way.
"No, no, no," she says, shaking her head emphatically. "In a fantastic way!" A twinkle evident in her eyes.
However, I always say that if you can't afford it, you shouldn't buy it, or you weren't meant to. Priorities always come first...what we need...and then if we're able to get the things we want, score.
The pure joy in having these sought after products is indescribable. And even though there is still a myriad of brands and products that still have not reached our shores, that's all right, because there is only so much one can use at any given time.
People...family included...are always shocked at the amount of make-up I own, and I do not own that much. Firstly, don't be. I didn't steal it! And secondly, I always reply with a question: "Why do you buy and spend your money on *insert appropriate whatever here*?" That's that, then. Never judge. Be happy. You have your likes and loves, and so do the rest of us. To each his own and all that.
So, what purpose will I serve in this over-saturated beauty sphere? Honestly, I'm not sure. I'll start off with whatever takes my fancy. That's as good a place to start as any. I'll talk about my finds, likes and (I hate the word dislike) things that don't necessarily work for me. And, hopefully, if it's something you haven't tried, or perhaps it's about an online store you haven't stumbled across, then it's a win for you. For me, too, as that will make me happy.
Can't wait to get started!
Remember: Age matters not. You do you, as I'll do me. Judge not lest you be judged. Be kind, always. Make someone smile daily and you'll live your best life.

ALWAYS BE YOU
